Immigration Salary List

What the Immigration Salary List means for Skilled Worker jobs

The Immigration Salary List contains specific occupations where different salary rules can apply. Being on the list does not remove the need to check the occupation code, the going rate and the location criteria.

Key points

  • Jobs on the list can use a lower general salary threshold in qualifying cases.
  • The current general minimum for a qualifying Immigration Salary List role is £33,400 a year.
  • The relevant going rate still matters.
  • Some occupations are included only in particular parts of the UK or for a limited period.

The salary test

GOV.UK states that if a qualifying job is on the Immigration Salary List, the worker must normally be paid at least £33,400 a year and still meet the relevant standard going rate for the occupation.

The list can also reduce the application fee, but it does not make an otherwise ineligible job automatically eligible.

Location can matter

The Immigration Salary List can include occupations only in certain parts of the UK. Always check whether the entry applies across the UK or only in England, Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland.

Check the removal date

Some entries have a removal date. A role that appears on the list today may not remain on the list indefinitely, so current official guidance should be checked at the time of application.
